Moe's Alley presents a double bill with POST STREET RHYTHM PEDDLERS (Santa Cruz) + BON BON VIVANT (New Orleans)

ABOUT POST STREET RHYTHM PEDDLERS - Evoking the seductive sound of 1920's New Orleans prohibition era jazz, the Post Street Rhythm Peddlers are the seven-piece culmination of piano, banjo, drums, bass, and a combo of trumpet, clarinet, trombone, violin, with sassy female vocals at the helm. This distinctively high-energy crew lures their audience back in time through the Southern boulevards into a world of sinnin', salvation, and bathtub gin, revisiting a place where the hardships of life are cause for a high-spirited musical celebration.  The Post Street Rhythm Peddlers from Santa Cruz, CA evoke the sound of the epic party times of 1929. This distinctively high-energy crew lures their audience back in time through the Southern boulevards into a world of sinnin', salvation, and bathtub gin, revisiting a place where the hardships of life are cause for a high-spirited musical celebration. With piano, banjo, drums, bass, a combo of trumpet, clarinet, trombone, violin, and sassy female vocals at the helm, The Post Street Rhythm Peddlers bring a fresh twist to the genres of 1920's/30's New Orleans Prohibition era Jazz, Barrelhouse, Dixieland, and Old-Time by incorporating modernized themes into their lyrics and a small but present jamband component to their music.

ABOUT BON BON VIVANT - Bon Bon Vivant is an Indie-Gypsy/New Orleans band playing original bawdy gypsy swing, dark ballads and uptempo indie rock/dance music. Front-woman Abigail Cosio's songwriting is as fierce as it is heartbreaking, often compared to Amy Winehouse, Melody Gardot and Florence and the Machine. BBV pays homage to the New Orleans music tradition while infusing an indie/punk edge, attracting both swing dancers and indie-rock concert goers alike.

Bon Bon Vivant can now be seen playing regularly at clubs all over New Orleans, and were featured at the French Quarter Festival, New Orleans Film Fest and the Creole Tomato Fest this year. BBV currently tours from Louisiana to the West Coast, playing storied venues like Clifton's and the Hotel Cafe (Los Angeles), as well as the Gatsby and The Rattle Inn during the Pecan Street Festival (Austin).
