Eat At Moe's

Moe's Alley presents a night of live soul, funk & rock with Strange Hotels (Portland Oregon), Marshall House Project & Reverend Stephan Sams.

Strange Hotels is a duo founded by Ben Braden and Nick Sadler in Portland, OR in early 2018. Although they are a new band they are quickly turning heads up and down the West Coast with their explosive live shows and compelling early recordings. Recording and producing music solely on iPads, using a slightly ramshackle process involving several apps working in concert, they found time in air-bnb’s and apartment studios on the road to create their first release, Mixtape. The result is a mix of inspired, off the cuff tones and well produced and precise Pop. Their music can be described as a wide-ranging project that includes flavors of Dance, RnB, Vintage Pop and Indie Rock.

Marshall House Project is a drivingsoul-funkoutfit with one footrooted in the deep pockets of the past and the other fearlessly exploring the deep fry of thefuture.  The sound is an eclecticelectric love-child: the product of an affair between Jimi Hendrix and theFunky Meters, after a long night of drinking with space aliens, and jamming to  Bob on the jukebox. MHP delivers a mash-up of energetic funk and slinky soul with a psychedelic twist and a chili salt rim.  The mission: to create an uplifting dance experience, spun full of twists and turns, interlaced with conscious reflective lyrics, expanding, contracting and alive like a universe unto itself.
