Moe's Alley welcomes SOUL MAJESTIC + SARITAH for a not to be missed Reggae & World Music double bill.

ABOUT SOUL MAJESTIC - Conceived by four friends on the sandy shores of California, Soul Majestic channels their sunny beach days and bonfire nights into their unique brand of reggae music. But look beyond their laid back vibe, and you’ll find they are ever pushing the boundaries of the genre with an edge that cuts through the smoky haze. Their music blends their deep commitment to roots reggae with their love of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk music. This is reggae, yet it’s original–a new twist on familiar sounds–with conscious, heartfelt messages, and a high-performance band that will have you waiting for what comes next. Their signature vocal sound features male and female singers trading melodies and soaring harmonies, laced with edgy, crowd hyping dancehall verses and memorable hooks. Epic lead guitar solos wail over a wide range of tight danceable beats, rock flourishes, and heavy-dub interludes that will captivate and move you to dance.

With a resume that includes recording with some of the greatest legends in the business (such as Sly and Robbie), sharing festival stages with the likes of Rebelution, Matisyahu, Sean Paul, and Damian Marley, and extensive touring of North America both headlining and as a support act for Anthony B, Soul Majestic has managed to amass a worldwide fan base. They have journeyed together through many adventures and growth opportunities in their career, from a pilgrimage to Jamaica to record their second album “Until that Day” at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong Studio, to touring Canada in support of their third album, “Better World” (which received an award for Galaxy Radio Canada’s top 10 international reggae albums of the year). Through it all they have maintained a strong unity and drive to continue to do what they love most: uplifting people through music!

Since the successful crowd funding campaign that fueled the recording of their fourth album “Setting the Tone” and the construction of their own studio and production lab, Soul Majestic has arrived at their highest peak of live performance, songwriting and musical creation yet. The recent album landed on the iTunes top reggae charts and was submitted by industry insiders for the 2015 GRAMMY Reggae Album of the Year!

Following a 2015 tour schedule that included Lucidity Festival, Santa Barbara Earthday, and the California Roots Festival, they got busy channeling the building energy and momentum into the studio, and have just released a compilation album online called “Pass It Around.” To promote it they released singles “Rockaway”, “Deep Green” and “Dub it Out” as a part of their #songamonth campaign, and just dropped a new single called “Falling in Love”, which debuted live at the 2016 California Roots Festival. With several west coast shows down, and more shows being added to their 2016 schedule, Soul Majestic is one to keep on your radar!

ABOUT SARITAH

Conscious roots songstress Saritah (sa-REE-ta) is on a worldwide musical mission to uplift, inspire and heal.  Bursting with an organic sound that is a refreshing and uniquely feminine weave of reggae, soul and acoustic inspired flavours, Saritah has a relentless passion for inspiring people to live their purpose and to follow their dreams.

Playfully powerful, Saritah’s live shows are colourful celebrations of life. A festival favourite with her infectious, beaming smile, Saritah has graced the stages of some of the world’s most renowned musical gatherings. Born in Seoul, South Korea, the country of her mother’s heritage, Saritah grew up by the Indian Ocean in the most isolated city in the world – Perth, Australia.  A traveller from the time she was a few months old, however, she has always had a global perspective and has been exposed to and influenced by a diversity of music and culture from around the world.

Choosing a positive, earth-conscious, vegan lifestyle, Saritah is inspired both by the majesty of the planet we live on and the overwhelming realities that face us on a day-to-day basis. Vulnerably aware that this modern life can be overwhelming at best, her songs are celebrations, revelations, invocations, affirmations. Equally at home fronting a full band on the big stage with an audience of thousands as she is with an acoustic guitar in front of an intimate crowd, Saritah has a positive vision for the future that shines through every word she sings and every note she plays.
