Moe's Alley proudly presents TESS DUNN & Band + special guests The Unending Thread for a special Sixty-Five Roses Birthday Bash Benefitting Cystic Fibrosis Research INC (CFRI) & Organ Donor Awareness.

What did you do on your 20th birthday? Local Santa Cruz treasure Tess Dunn will celebrate hers rocking Moe’s Alley with her multi-faceted band. Don’t let her youthful age fool you: A dynamic performer and prolific songwriter, Tess has dominated stages from San Diego to Seattle to Orlando, including performances at Vans Warped Tour West Coast shows for the past six years running. Tess calls Moe’s “her second living room,” and it is only fitting that she would celebrate the local release of her third EP, Daydreamers, at this musical mecca. But it gets even better. All proceeds from this show will benefit Cystic Fibrosis Research, Incorporated, while raising organ donation awareness. Throw in tacos, libations and birthday cake, and this is one party you will not want to miss!

Tess is noted for her powerful vocal range that goes from unique raspy lows to crystal clear highs. She is also a talented keyboardist and keytarist. Recorded at the legendary Jackpot! Studio in Portland with award-winning singer-songwriter Ari Shine and engineer Sean Flora (The Shins, The Black Keys), Daydreamers showcases Tess’ mature talent. In its first review, Daydreamers was praised as a “compilation of some of the best sounds and hooks to show up from the "underground" side of the pop-rock genre in quite a while.”

Tess recorded her first EP, Darling Just Walk, in 2009, and her second, "Honesty Box," in 2012. Described as an old soul, Tess's lyrics were said by one reviewer to "hit with the energy of Blink 182 and the emotional intensity of a Fiona Apple ballad."

Tess jokes that she is having a mid-life crisis. A bit of black humor, in light of her battle with cystic fibrosis, a life-threatening disease for which there is no cure. Tess is on a mission to get her music heard. In addition to her three EPs, she has contributed songs to two compilation albums, and her music has been placed in a soon-to-be-released indie film. The subject of three national film projects, including a Vans Off The Wall TV "Pass the Bucket" segment, Tess receives messages from fans around the world inspired by her refusal to bow to life's unfair hand.

With her passion, drive and stunning talent, Tess Dunn takes girl power to a whole new level.

LA-based indie band, The Unending Thread, will perform an acoustic opening set.
